Harmonelo constantly strive to adhere to the principles of social responsibility and environmental sustainability.

We innovate not only our products, but also their packaging.

Our bottles contain 25% rPET, which is currently the maximum level possible with regard to technological processes. In five years' time, according to the European directive, every new PET bottle should contain at least 25 percent recycled content. We already use these bottles now. The paper used by Harmonelo is FSC - Forest Stewardship Council certified. Forest Stewardship Council. We are contributing to the protection of forests and the control of forest harvesting around the world.

Secondary use? What is rPET?

rPET is recycled PET, i.e. no mineral raw material needs to be extracted for its production. PET is used most often to produce food and beverage packaging and is 100% recyclable. Thanks to a modern, energy- and material-friendly process, our bottle supplier can produce high-quality rPET regranulate in "foodgrade" quality. The production of rPET regranulate in food quality as a secondary raw material for the subsequent production of PET bottles is an important part of the circular economy, as it enables the endless, repeated use of PET material in the food industry. rPET as recycled PET material has various other secondary uses, e.g. binding tapes, packaging films, garden furniture, products in the automotive industry, etc. PET processed in this way is a valuable resource and saves the environment. We do not plunder natural resources and do not produce unnecessary waste!

What is Forest Stewardship Council?

The basic idea of the international FSC organisation is to promote environmentally responsible, socially beneficial and economically viable forest management worldwide. In doing so, it seeks to help protect the world's disappearing, threatened and devastated forests and minimise illegal logging. The FSC forest certification scheme is the process of checking a particular forest to determine whether it is managed in accordance with the FSC standard. The extent of FSC-certified forests is growing rapidly, with 223 million hectares in 2021, roughly half of which is in Europe. Forests are among the most threatened ecosystems on the planet. FSC helps to improve the condition and stability of forest cover, which matters to us at Harmonelo.
